## ThriveCart review (2026)

ThriveCart is a good fit when you need order bumps and one-click upsells, with no ThriveCart fee on the sale. Use the monthly trial if you might need affiliates. Pay for the one-time Standard license only if you plan to keep using it, and only if you do not need Pro+ or you have already set money aside for it.

### Quick answer

ThriveCart still sells a checkout you can run on its own. You can pay for Standard once, or you can pay monthly. The company added monthly plans in its 2026 pricing announcement and kept the one-time license. Choose that license if you plan to keep this checkout and you do not need affiliates, or you have already included the Pro+ add-on in the budget. Choose the monthly trial if you might need an affiliate center, failed-payment recovery, or a second order bump. Those three are Pro+ features whether you pay monthly or you already own the license.

The 4.0 on this page reflects the upsell tools and the zero platform fee. The Pro+ paywall, the refund complaints and the notes on support are why the score stays there. [Read the ThriveCart pricing page](/reviews/thrivecart/pricing) before you buy.

### The ThriveCart lifetime deal is still available

You probably heard a one-time price, then saw monthly plans and wondered whether the license was an outdated offer. ThriveCart's [pricing announcement](https://thrivecart.com/blog/new-monthly-pricing-model/) says the lifetime option is still available. Monthly billing was added for people who want to pay over time. Customers who already have an account keep the plan they are on.

Both ways of paying are current. The one-time price is the lifetime option in the table on this page. The costly mistake is buying that license and later learning that affiliate tools, failed-payment recovery and extra bumps require Pro+.

### Standard includes the bump. Pro+ includes affiliates

Standard is the checkout plan. The [homepage](https://thrivecart.com/) lists one order bump, one-click upsells and downsells, checkout A/B tests, ThrivePages, subscriptions, unlimited products and funnels, and ThriveCart Academy Starter. Academy Starter is the reason the account includes lessons as well as checkout. This review looks at the order bump, the one-click upsell and the fee ThriveCart takes on a sale.

Pro+ is the higher plan on that same page. It lists the affiliate center with automated payouts, subscription dunning, multiple order bumps, custom domains and advanced subscription reporting. ThriveCart's [support article](https://support.thrivecart.com/help/what-is-thrivecart-pro/) offers Pro+ as a yearly add-on for people who already own lifetime Standard. That add-on is its own line in the table. If your launch pays affiliates, or you need the cart to follow up on a failed subscription payment, include Pro+ in the budget before you buy Standard. The license does not include those features.

### For email and a member site, use another tool

A tool built only for checkout is a weak choice for a weekly newsletter and a membership site. The [Kartra review](/reviews/kartra) and the [Systeme.io review](/reviews/systeme-io) cover platforms that combine email, a membership area and checkout in one login. A buyer comparing Kartra with ThriveCart said the monthly cost adds up. That comment is about paying for several tools every month.

If the offer needs several pages, with checkout as one of those pages, read the [ClickFunnels review](/reviews/clickfunnels). If you want a second hosted checkout, and order bumps are on its higher plan, read [SamCart vs ThriveCart](/compare/samcart-vs-thrivecart). The [methodology page](/methodology) explains how vendor pages and user reports are read.

##### What works

* ThriveCart's processor fees page says the company takes 0% of the sale. Stripe, PayPal, or a buy-now-pay-later service still charges its own rate.
* Standard includes one order bump, one-click upsells and downsells, checkout A/B tests, ThrivePages and subscriptions.
* The campaign page still offers a one-time Standard license. The 2026 pricing announcement kept that license and added monthly plans beside it.
* The monthly plans include a 30-day trial. Standard also includes ThriveCart Academy Starter.
* Forum threads include sellers who tried other platforms and came back to ThriveCart.

##### What to watch

* Affiliate tools, subscription dunning, extra order bumps and a custom domain are Pro+ features. One lifetime buyer found that affiliate management required a yearly add-on.
* In an alternatives thread, a reader said SamCart's support team answered much faster.
* One buyer requested a refund during the guarantee period and said it had still not been paid.
* On a Standard subscription, the processor fees page lists separate charges for subscription bumps, retention offers and Advanced Adaptive Pricing.
* This product is checkout software. Buyers who also need email marketing and a membership site often compare it with Kartra and Systeme.io.

### What buyers report

One thread asks whether people still use this checkout. The comments there treat the one-click upsell as the reason to stay. That matches the plan list: the upsell is on Standard, not reserved for Pro+. In the same broader discussion, another person wrote that they have tried other platforms and keep coming back.

How the features are split across plans is the issue most likely to sway a purchase. In the discussion thread, a buyer wrote that affiliate management "was actually locked behind the $295/year paywall" after a sales chat had implied the lifetime purchase included it. The support article describes that yearly Pro+ add-on for license holders. The surprise was the chat. The paywall matches the published plans.

Fewer comments are about support. In an alternatives thread, a reader called SamCart the closest direct competitor and said its support was much more responsive. A different thread says emails about a lifetime purchase went unanswered.

Refunds are a separate problem. One buyer said a refund requested during the return window had still not been paid. They called that process poor, and they said the software itself was fine. A Capterra review says a customer refund was processed twice, which created an accounting problem and a difficult conversation with that buyer. One case is the bill for ThriveCart itself. The other is a refund ThriveCart sent to a customer.

One seller said the service went down and customers could not pay. Another person in that thread stayed, and wrote that they believe ThriveCart is a verified Stripe partner and SamCart is not. A Capterra note says clients have trouble finding the coupon field. An older comment mentions paying $800 for a lifetime membership plus Learn. That number is the amount the buyer paid at the time. The campaign page's current one-time price is the lifetime line in the table.

### What ThriveCart costs

For Standard and Pro+, the yearly column is the monthly price when billing is annual. The lifetime tier is a single payment. The last line is a yearly Pro+ fee for people who already own that license.

| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | What you get |
| ----------------- | -------- | ------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Standard | $47 | $37/mo | One order bump, one-click upsells and downsells, checkout A/B tests, ThrivePages, subscriptions, unlimited products and funnels, and Academy Starter. A trial is included on the new monthly plans. |
| Pro+ | $87 | $67/mo | Affiliate center, subscription dunning, multiple order bumps, custom domains, and advanced subscription reporting. The same trial applies. |
| Lifetime Standard | One-time | $495 | The campaign page still offers this Standard license. It shows the offer next to an older price of $1,995. |
| Pro+ on lifetime | Add-on | $295 | Yearly Pro+ for an account that already holds the one-time Standard license. |

The three bars stand for monthly payments. The solid block stands for the license paid once.

### Who should buy the license

Buy the one-time Standard license if you already sell digital products, order bumps and upsells are the bottleneck, and you either do not need affiliates or have already budgeted for Pro+. ThriveCart's fee on the sale stays at zero either way. The one-time license costs less than monthly Standard only after those monthly fees have added up to the one-time price.

Pay monthly if you want the trial first, or if you already know the launch needs the affiliate center, dunning, or a second bump. Those features are on monthly Pro+. They are the yearly add-on if you already own the license. I would start a trial on the plan that has the features I need. I would pay for the license only after a launch showed that the upsell was worth keeping.

Choose another tool if your main need is email marketing and a membership site. The [Kartra review](/reviews/kartra) and the [Systeme.io review](/reviews/systeme-io) cover that kind of account, and [Systeme.io pricing](/reviews/systeme-io/pricing) includes a free plan. The [ClickFunnels review](/reviews/clickfunnels) is the one to read for a launch that runs across several pages. If you will not pay for Pro+ or for the license, start with [ThriveCart alternatives](/alternatives/thrivecart). [ThriveCart vs Kartra](/compare/thrivecart-vs-kartra) compares this checkout with an account that also sends email.

### Changelog

* 24 October 2026. First publication. Monthly rates come from ThriveCart's pricing announcement. The one-time Standard figure comes from the campaign page. The Pro+ add-on for lifetime accounts comes from the support article. The zero sales fee and the Standard subscription automation charges come from the processor fees page.

### Frequently asked questions

Is the ThriveCart lifetime deal still available?

Yes. The pricing announcement says the one-time option remains, and monthly billing was added next to it. The current one-time price is the lifetime line in the table above.

What does Pro+ add that Standard leaves out?

The affiliate center, recovery of failed subscription payments, more than one order bump, a custom domain and advanced subscription reporting. If you already own lifetime Standard, those features are the yearly add-on in the table.

Does ThriveCart take a cut of each sale?

The processor fees page says ThriveCart takes nothing from the sale. Stripe, PayPal or a buy-now-pay-later provider still charges its own rate. A Standard subscription can also owe the automation charges described under the table.

How does this compare with SamCart or Kartra?

SamCart vs ThriveCart compares the two checkouts. ThriveCart vs Kartra is the comparison to read when email and a member site have to share the login. Both are linked from this page.

Can I try the checkout before I buy the license?

The monthly plans include a trial. Use it if you are not ready to pay for the license. Affiliates are still a Pro+ feature on the monthly plans.
