The label "funnel builder" hides the real gap. ClickFunnels sells you a sequence: a visitor lands on a page, opts in, hits a checkout, gets shown a one-click upsell, then a downsell, and every step is a page ClickFunnels stitches together and tracks as one flow. Leadpages sells you the pages themselves, one at a time, and stops at lead capture and an embedded Stripe button. You can build a good opt-in page or a sales page in Leadpages in an afternoon. What to watch

  • The learning curve is steep. This is the single most consistent complaint from long-term users. The 2.0 editor is deep, and reviewers report weeks or months before they felt fluent, with some still hitting limitations regularly. Budget real setup time, not an afternoon.
  • Bugs and glitches still show up. Version 2.0 fixed the worst sluggishness of the old platform, but reviewers who use it daily still report intermittent glitches, logouts and middling page-speed scores, which can nudge your SEO. Most call it usable with rough edges rather than broken.
  • Support is inconsistent, and billing complaints are real. Some users praise live video help; others report slow answers and no easy phone line. Public complaint records include over-billing and double-billing, so watch your statements and confirm cancellations went through.
  • It is not cheap, and the entry plan is tight. Launch at $97 a month caps you at one workspace, two team members and 10,000 contacts, and email and contact limits push many users up to Scale at $197. Priced against simpler tools, ClickFunnels is a premium spend.
  • It is hard to leave. Pages built in ClickFunnels do not export cleanly to another platform, and there is no one-click importer coming in. If you switch tools later, budget rebuild time; your contacts come out as a CSV file, your funnels do not.

  • You get a clean, mobile-ready landing page live in minutes. Reviewers with no coding background single out the drag-and-drop editor and the template library, and the new AI builder can draft a branded page from a prompt in about a minute.
  • Every Leadpages plan includes unlimited traffic with no visitor caps. That is a real gap from Unbounce and Instapage, which cap monthly visitors on their entry plans and charge more when a campaign works.
  • A/B testing is included from the $67 Grow plan, where several rivals gate testing behind pricier tiers. Smart Traffic visitor routing and click and scroll heatmaps come one tier up on Optimize.
  • It is more than a page builder now. You get full websites and blogs on a custom domain with free SSL, an embeddable Stripe checkout, lead enrichment, and more than 200 integrations to push leads to your CRM or email tool.
  • It is cheaper than it was. The Grow list price has dropped, and a separate publishing-only product, HTML Pub, covers pages alone for $7 to $33 if you do not need the optimization tools.

What to watch

  • Design control is the trade-off. Reviewers say the templates are limited and pages built on them look like every other Leadpages page, with little pixel-level control over styles. A brand with strict guidelines will fight the editor.
  • The billing reputation is the real risk. Long-term reviewers report surprise annual auto-renewals, a cancel flow that does not always take effect, and refunds refused. Leadpages does not refund subscription payments, only future renewals, so its Trustpilot score sits far below its product ratings.
  • No free plan, and the 7-day trial needs a card. You commit a payment method to try it and you are charged on day 7 unless you cancel first. Given the cancellation complaints, set a reminder.
  • It is a page tool, not a full funnel. It has no funnel logic like ClickFunnels, and email is no longer built in since Drip became a separate company, so you still wire an email tool and a CRM alongside it.
  • The price only makes sense if you use the conversion features. If you just want to publish a page it reads as expensive next to lighter builders. The value lands when you run tests every week.

On the sticker, Leadpages is the cheaper entry. Its Grow plan lists at $67 a month, a price that appears to have been cut recently, with higher tiers around $135 and $271, unlimited traffic on every plan, and A/B testing included from Grow. Smart Traffic routing and heatmaps come one tier up. There is no free plan, and the 7-day trial needs a card, so you are charged on day seven unless you cancel first. A separate publishing-only product, HTML Pub, covers pages alone for $7 to $33 if you do not need the conversion tools.

ClickFunnels starts higher, at $97 a month on Launch ($81 paid annually), then Scale at $197 and Optimize at $297; a Dominate tier runs $5,997 a year, annual only. What you are paying for is different, though. Every ClickFunnels plan includes unlimited funnels, pages, visitors and hosting, so there are no traffic overages. The real reason people upgrade is contact and email-send caps, not visitors: Launch caps at 10,000 contacts, one workspace and two team members and has no automations, and email limits push many users up to Scale. Both tools charge 0% on your transactions; you pay only your payment processor's normal fees.

So the price gap is real but small, and it is not the deciding factor. You are choosing a page tool against a funnel platform, and paying $30 more a month for the second is not the part that will hurt. The learning time is.
